At Weblight we will manage your compliance testing for your whole organisation, we can develop a program of testing and reporting to ensure that you have full visibility across your estate and always remain compliant.
Compliance testing gives you peace of mind that you, your staff and customers are safe and compliant with insurance companies and regulatory bodies. How regularly you need to have your PAT, Fixed Wire circuits, Emergency Lighting and Fire Alarms tested depends on your industry. If you are unsure, than contact us and we can guide you through the legislation.
Weblight specialise in supporting organisations with large multi-site estates across the UK and Eire. We can provide discounts for bundled compliance testing e.g. Pat Testing and Emergency Light Testing, if they are tested during the same visit.
The Electricity at Work Act, Health & Safety at Work Act and The Provisions & use of Work Equipment Regulations give clear guidance on an employers responsibility to their staff, customers and the general public.
Electrical equipment must be fit for purpose and not be allowed to deteriorate in condition such that it puts people at risk.
Regular Portable Appliance Testing should be an important part of your Health and Safety policy. Most equipment in a retail or commercial space should be tested every 12 months.
Our engineer will use your asset register to ensure that all equipment is listed (we can construct one if one isn’t available), they will then visually inspect and test to BS 7671 using calibrated machines. The results will be recorded and a PAT tested label will be affixed in a prominent location.
You will then receive a certificate for the area or full address identifying the pass or fail of all the equipment tested (failed equipment will be “made safe”). The certificates will be uploaded onto your systems and be kept on your dedicated portal.
All premises require emergency lighting where there is artificial lighting. BS 5266 has clear instructions on the maintenance and testing programme required.
It is a legal requirement that Emergency Lighting
Results of all tests must be documented in the emergency lighting log book. We will work with you to identify the level of support required and build a programme of testing that will ensure that you remain compliant.
By carrying out fixed wire testing to BS 7671 at regular intervals, deficiencies in your electrical systems can be identified and remedied immediately – before a fault becomes dangerous.
We recommend all electrical circuits are visually inspected and physically tested regularly. The maximum period between inspections and testing is between 3 – 5 years depending on the type of business and electrical circuit. We will work with you to ensure that the work is scheduled and conducted with minimal disruption to the business and keep you compliant.
Following the fixed wire test you will receive an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) which gives a full overview of the condition of the circuits, faults and observations including Category 1, C2 and C3. All C1 faults will be “made safe” by our engineer.
In conjunction with fixed wire testing we recommend annual non intrusive Thermal Imaging Testing which identifies “hot spots” in your electrical circuits. The benefits of Thermal Imaging is that it can be conducted during working hours with no electrical disruption to the business.
Weblight can also provide comprehensive lighting and emergency lighting maintenance across your estate. Manufacturers’ warranties are sometimes only valid if a full regime of maintenance and testing is conducted.
